Palm Desert Concerts in the Park Series   May 3, 10, 17 & 24
Held on the terraced lawn of the Civic Center Park Amphitheater, music lovers can look forward to diverse musical offerings from reggae to R&B, country to indie and more. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, blankets, and lawn chairs. The Family YMCA of the Desert will conduct children activities prior to each concert and food trucks will be onsite with tasty food options, beverages and snacks for purchase.

Park After Dark - Family Night   May 4
Ever wonder what the animals are up to at The Living Desert when the people go home and the lights go out? Each special evening for families includes an up-close animal presentation, guided walk through the zoo and s’mores roasting ‘round a roaring campfire. Reservations are required.

Train Day at The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens   May 5
A free conductor hat will be given away to those attending, while supplies last. Train Day features fun events centered around The Living Desert’s 3,300 feet of track at the Garden Railroad. Train Day includes a scavenger hunt, special trackless train rides, and of course a Choo-Choo-Churro special. Model train enthusiasts will enjoy informative train chats being offered.

Evening Under The Stars   May 5
The largest annual fundraiser for AAP – Food Samaritans, a non-profit organization that provides nutritional support for low-income people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses. Includes a sunset cocktail hour, a short awards program will recognize a few inspirational honorees, followed by a delicious dinner, and the performance by Gladys Knight.
